Livelihood Programs
The Livelihood Program at Living Earth Uganda (LEU) is dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities, particularly women and youth, by providing essential skills and resources to establish sustainable businesses. Through this program, LEU facilitates the organization of these communities into groups and enterprises, offering training in areas such as agriculture, waste management, energy-saving technologies, business entrepreneurship development, markets and market linkages, functional skills training, and more.
The program aims to enhance economic self-sufficiency by linking participants with apprenticeship and internship opportunities, enabling them to gain practical experience. Additionally, LEU supports these groups in accessing and utilizing government interventions and other available resources, ensuring that they are well-positioned to improve their livelihoods.
By fostering partnerships with public and private sectors, LEU not only strengthens the capacity of these enterprises but also promotes the sustainable use of local resources. This approach ensures that communities can generate income, create employment opportunities, and contribute to environmental stewardship, all while improving their living standards.
