Natural Resources and Environment

Living Earth Uganda (LEU) is and has been a key player in environmental conservation and natural resource management since its establishment in 1999. As a registered and licensed non-governmental organization, LEU is dedicated to promoting awareness and skill development in environmental management. The organization encourages communities and stakeholders to transform sustainable ideas into practical action.

LEU’s work centers on public education in ecology, natural history, and resource conservation. The organization actively engages in protecting and restoring natural resources while fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment. LEU’s initiatives include equipping communities with the knowledge and tools needed for effective natural resources and environment management where waste management is among the focus for communities. This includes promoting alternative energy sources like fuel briquettes made from waste and supporting plastic recycling as a viable business. Through its vocational training programs, LEU empowers communities to adopt sustainable practices, contributing to the conservation and restoration of Uganda’s natural beauty and resources.
