Mr. Kato David Kasangaki, a beneficiary for Crop, trees and Livestock

Mr. Kato David happens to be the LC1 Chairperson of Rwamutonga A Village. He is one of the Project Affected Person (PAP) from Hoima District. He received a Boer Buck (Male) and 2 Doe (female) goats. The project also distributed pasture, maize, and beans seeds. He got cassava stems, and 100 grevilia trees.

Mr. Kato has already got 5 off-springs from the improved goats that he received from the project. He has sold cassava stems to some community members, and earned some good money. His Grevilia trees have grown very fast, and are already providing shade to the gardens, and home. He says the cassava grows very fast, and can be harvested in less than 8 months contrary to the traditional one that would take up to 2 years to harvest. “As a family, we are so happy. Our lives have changed so much. We have been able to move from a grass thatched house to iron sheet roofed house. I have been able to pay school fees for my children. I have planted 1 acre of cassava from which I expect to earn 5 million. I have also planted 2 acres of maize which I expect to earn over a million shillings. With my projected harvests, next year I may start ‘walking’ like a rich man. But in all humbleness, we ask Total energies to extend Living Earth Uganda contract because their staff are very respectful, they do a lot of follow ups, and not at any point have they left us alone.
