Mrs. Bagadisa highlighted how she has benefited from the trainings for good agronomcal practices and how she has used the knowledge to improve her farming practices. In her words, Mrs. Bagadisa said “I became a beneficiary of the project in year, 2023. My group members and I were trained in modern cassava farming which was termed – the ‘Pure Stand’ method.
I received groundnut, maize, cassava, and water melon (vegetable) as planting material. This season, I was able to sell my cassava chips and flour, and we earned 3 million, which we used to pay for school for my children. All our 6 children are now going to school, because we can afford to pay their school dues. We also have surplus food in our house unlike before. I remember, before the project, my family used to be very poor and vulnerable. My children had stopped going to school, and we had persistent food shortage. My husband and I used to worry a lot about our future and the children. But life has changed now! we know our future is secure because of the knowledge and skills acquired.”
