Living Earth Uganda’s Thrilling Team Building and Sports Day bonds Participants through Football, Netball, and More!

Hoima cluster won the overall after being declared winners for both netball and football games.

Living Earth Uganda, one of the pioneers in promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation in Uganda, on Saturday May 13th, 2023 organized an exhilarating Team Building through Sports Day event. This much-anticipated gathering brought together employees, volunteers, and community members for a day of spirited competition, camaraderie, and fun-filled activities.

With a focus on fostering teamwork, enhancing communication skills, and promoting physical well-being, the event proved to be a resounding success. Football, netball, and an array of exciting games served as the cornerstone of this unforgettable day, leaving participants with lasting memories and strengthened bonds.

The Executive Director Living Earth Uganda, Mr. Swithern Tumwine noted that,

“There was no better time to organize such an activity to ‘offload’ the fatigue that had accumulated over a long period of input distribution and other heavily engaging project activities”.

Unleashing the Spirit of Unity

Speaking at the event, the Assistant project manager for the Agricultural Support Service Project (AgricSSP) Mr. Moses Nuwaha observed that the teams displayed the desire, ambition and team spirit throughout the games, which demonstrates a winning culture in Living Earth Uganda.

“We have teamwork but what constitutes a team is the individual’s effort aggregated together for their team, which I believe every enterprise desires” says Mr. Nuwaha.

Living Earth Uganda firmly believes that fostering a strong sense of unity and collaboration is paramount for achieving sustainable change. The Team Building and Sports Day embodied these values as participants eagerly joined hands, breaking down barriers and forging connections through shared experiences. By engaging in friendly competition and collaborative challenges, individuals developed a deeper understanding of the importance of teamwork, mutual support, and effective communication.

One of the highlights of the event was a football game between the Hoima and Buliisa office clusters, where teams battled it out on the field, showcasing their skills, agility, and teamwork. The players demonstrated tremendous determination, agility, and sportsmanship, giving their all to secure victory for their respective teams.

Through the fast-paced nature of the game, participants learned crucial life lessons such as strategic planning, adaptability, and effective decision-making. The football tournament not only promoted physical fitness but also inspired a sense of healthy competition, encouraging individuals to push their boundaries and reach new heights.
